Privacy Policy

We collect as little as possible: enough to take your payment, send you your walk, and save your progress. We don’t sell your data, and there are no advertising trackers.

This policy explains what Santosh G. Hegde, trading as DejaClue City (“we”, “us”), collects when you buy or play a walk, and what we do with it.

What we collect

• Your email and phone number — provided to our payment provider at checkout and passed to us, so we can send your access link and help you resume.
• Your name — as given to the payment provider, used on your receipt/invoice.
• Payment confirmation — a payment reference and amount from our provider. We never receive or store your card or UPI details.
• A device cookie — a small signed token stored on your phone that points at your current walk, so the game knows where you are. It is not used for advertising.
• Your progress — which puzzles your team has solved, so you can resume on any phone.
• Basic technical logs — such as request times and error information, used to keep the service running and to limit abuse.

Why we collect it

• To take payment and issue your ticket and tax invoice.
• To deliver the walk and let you (or a teammate) resume it.
• To provide support and to protect the service from fraud and abuse.
• To meet our legal and tax obligations in India.

Who we share it with

Only the service providers we need to run the product:

• Our payment provider, to process your payment.
• Our email provider, to deliver your access link and receipts.
• Our hosting provider, which stores this data on our behalf.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for advertising. We may disclose information if required by law.

Cookies

We use a single essential cookie to remember your current walk on your device. It is not used to track you across other sites. The preview video, if you play it, may set cookies controlled by the video host (e.g. YouTube) under their own policy.

How long we keep it

We keep purchase and invoice records for as long as required by Indian tax law. Progress and device data are kept while your walk is valid and for a reasonable period afterwards, then removed or anonymised.

Your choices

You can ask us for a copy of your data, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing support@dejacluecity.com. We may need to keep records we are legally required to retain (such as tax invoices).
